Remember who you are

Once upon a time I forgot who I was

I accepted manipulation as love

And tolerated abuse as care

I settled for just about enough but

Not enough
I accepted his distorted reality

As my own and submitted to

What I knew was not right

I forgot who I was trying to

Submit to what was not
See when you forget who

You are, you become just

About anyone to belong

They say a “hungry heart believes

Every lie”, I say a hungry heart is a

lost one, but not a lost cause
Remember who you are

Write it, define it and keep it close

To your heart so when you

Forget, some day your

 heart may remind you of

what was once you

remember who you are!
